JOB SUMMARY: The Programming Analyst will be responsible for problem analysis, design, programming, testing, and any application of computer technology for the optimization of company resources through systems that reduce cost, increase productivity, or improve the company's ability to serve our customers and community. The position will also be responsible for transforming data and managing devices within the company's suite of software.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for the development and maintenance of applications or processes necessary to meet the needs of BrightRidge Works closely with internal customers to analyze and define business requirements and workflows within systems such as AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and MDMS (Meter Data Management System) Creates design specifications and converts business requirements to software designs Establish and direct the use of program specifications and standards; ensuring system security, integrity, and efficient use of automation Builds custom software solutions such as scripts, automation, dashboards across the Enterprise Implements and configures solutions recommended by our in-house systems provider (National Information Solutions Cooperative), such as any cloud-based overlay to our system of record, or any supporting warehousing, sales, or GIS applications. Create and execute software testing Research and resolve user issues Works within the guidelines of BrightRidge system security and procedures Design and maintain relational databases for querying information from disparate systems Effectively prioritizes tasks Manage small projects with the support of the Enterprise Systems Coordinator and BPO Manager Defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be highly self-motivated and demonstrate strong verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex problems and solutions to end users Familiarity with the Agile development method Must have experience in Windows development environment with the preference for the following: Microsoft SQL, Oracle SQL, Visual Studio, MS PowerShell, and Python. Perform other duties as requested or assigned Must maintain a valid driver's license from state of residence Must be available for after-hours work which would include working a fair share of all necessary overtime Ability to maintain reliable, predictable, and reasonable attendance KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to positively contribute to a culture of innovation and collaboration strongly desired Possesses proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities Ability to analyze broad data sets and offer actionable insights Must have a strong math background Must have a general knowledge of all departmental functions and policies Experience designing/developing reports and dashboards, Microsoft Power BI, Office 365 product suite, and equivalent BI products a plus Must have manual dexterity and the ability to perform data entry functions on a computer Must have the ability to apply common sense and reasoning to carry out instructions given in a written or oral form Embraces relevant technology and actively improves skills through informal and formal learning PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Constant sitting, handling, fingering, feeling, fine manipulation, vision, static position (head and neck), talking, hearing, and use of arm/hand for machine control operation. Frequent reaching is required. Occasional lifting of less than 10 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Indoor climate-controlled office environment with proper lighting
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/IT or related field is required Advanced mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills are needed Fundamental knowledge of programming Prior experience using NISC, IVUE, and/or other enterprise solution applications preferred Experience with ArcGIS enterprise mapping preferred Experience with data conversion/migration preferred BrightRidge wishes to be in full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
