Primary Responsibilities Proactively partner with the Principal in Charge, Senior Project Manager or Project Director and Clients in the development of design; significantly contributing towards the design of the projectConfidently lead the efforts of all project team members, clients, consultants, contractors and agency officials, working with the Principal in Charge and with limited oversight from the Project DirectorSuccessfully lead the production, organization and coordination of the BIM model and drawing set as required for presentations, agency approvals and constructionDirect junior staff to produce presentation materials for client and agency presentations and other tasks required of the projectCoach and mentor junior staff, share experiences and lessons learned to increase the firm's common knowledgeProactively and largely independently, develop and track project delivery plan, staffing, budget and schedule, while providing regular key status updates to Principal in Charge and Project Director as neededResearch and specify materials, products and systemsAct as a champion for office standards (Quality Assurance and Quality Control)Attend job site meetings, oversee RFI responses, submittals and shop drawing review during Construction AdministrationQualifications Accredited degree in architectureAt least seven years of related professional experience, preferably including design and detailing experience on high-end custom residential, hospitality, and workplace projectsCalifornia State Architect's license preferredDemonstrated ability and strong command of broad and deep technical architecture knowledge; technical knowledge of Type V construction is strongly preferredDemonstrated 3D modeling/BIM proficiency (ArchiCAD preferred, but not required)Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and develop junior staff team membersExcellent verbal, written and graphic communication skillsCompensation and Benefits Walker Warner Architects offers a competitive compensation package including fully paid health benefits for employees, profit sharing, employer 401(k) contribution, generous paid time off, and flexible spending accounts, plus so much more. The hiring base annual salary range for this position is $116,000 - $136,000.
