About the Position As a member of NHLBI's Space + Design Branch (SDB), the project manager executes a wide variety of micro/small/medium interior renovation projects to enhance research laboratory and office workplace environments.
The SDB project manager acts as an internal owner's representatives in support of NHLBI's mission.
The SDB team maintains an extensive portfolio of all NHLBI space, coordinates day-to-day workplace needs through minor interior renovations, and also manages larger renovation projects ranging from $50K-$5M in scale.
You will work with renowned scientific, clinical, and administrative staff to translate their workplace needs into high quality physical solutions.
Project types range from biomedical research laboratories, hospital clinics and commercial offices.

Core duties include:
Management of micro/small/medium interior renovations such as scientific equipment installations, furniture installations/reconfigurations, personnel relocations, laboratory casework modifications, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing trade coordination.Independently managing large scale laboratory/office relocation efforts.Working closely with senior project managers to gain experience while helping to execute larger more complex renovation projects.Conducting project close-out reviews to reflect on current processes and identify areas for improvement.Contributing to team discussions and collaborative branch improvement efforts.Initiating, coordinating, and implementing special programs and projects. Preferred Skills/Background Bachelor's degree or higher3+ years' experience in architecture, engineering, construction, project management or lab planning industriesExperience with writing scopes of work, estimating costs, developing programs of requirement, assembling and reviewing construction documentsExperience with BIM and CADFamiliarity with the architectural design processExcellent communication skills; written, verbal and visualDynamic personality possessing a high level of interpersonal skills for effectively collaborating with all levels of the organizationStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize a multitude of interdependent complex tasks and schedules Heart disease: the #1 leading cause of death in the United States.
