Location: Rhode Island Department of Health Hybrid (Providence, RI) - office two days per week
Position End Date: 6/30/2025
Salary: $75,000
Overview: The CDC Foundation is seeking Project Coordinator assigned to the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH). This position will be in the Center for Acute Infectious Disease Epidemiology (CAIDE), within the Division of Emergency Preparedness and Infectious Disease (EPID). This position will be responsible for supporting CAIDE with budgets, contracts, and grant management.
Qualifications: · Bachelor's Degree from a college of recognized standing with specialization in Public Health, Public Administration or a related field
· Considerable employment in a responsible position in a public or private agency involving the application public health programs.
· Experience with grants, budgets, and purchasing
· Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
· Strong organizational skills
· The ability to communicate and interact tactfully and effectively with internal and external partners
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize a large caseload, and pay attention to detail
· Extensive experience collaborating with other teams/groups
· Ability to work in a professional team environment, as well as independently
Responsibilities: · Monitoring grant activities, sending reminders about what activities are due when, and following up with individuals who have not completed assigned tasks.
· Convening a quarterly meeting with ELC Governance Team members within RIDOC to provide an overview of status of grant activities
· Attending CDC grant related meetings and conferences
· Maintaining communication with CDC project manager for ELC grant
· Producing slide decks for grant progress, spend down and other program details
· Developing contract paperwork for new contracts
· Approving and submitting invoices for payment
· Monitoring contract spending and updating contract paperwork for modifications and extensions.
· Supporting staff with Request for Proposals (RFP) processes
· Leading integration activities with community partners, such as rolling out new case report forms and electronic applications to medical providers and other partners
· Assisting in planning the work of a staff engaged in carrying out public health programs
· Identifying inefficiencies within CAIDE and developing plans for improvement
· Supporting the CAIDE Chief as needed
Notes: This role is involved in a dynamic public health program and may occasionally be required to work outside of normal business hours to respond to outbreaks and emergencies. In addition, roles and responsibilities are subject to change as situations evolve. Roles and responsibilities listed above may be expanded upon or updated to match priorities and needs, once written approval is received by both the CDC Foundation and the Rhode Island Department of Health, in order to best support the State of Rhode Island in their public health programming.
