Description Develop scopes for several types of capital projects in conjunction with the Coim project sponsors and stakeholders in support of the West Deptford Plant needs.
Have accountability for leading general and capital projects through the various project development and execution stages of a project.
Focus will be on the front-end project scope development, options generation, preparation of cost estimates and development of project execution plans.
These projects will typically involve projects within an operating unit that: (1) have a considerable impact on business performance, (2) materially impact the Supply Chain, (3) have very demanding schedules or (4) are complex, requiring well developed expertise in project engineering, organization, and leadership.
Meet with, interface, and coordinate with the various plant functions departments including EHS, production, maintenance, process engineers, QC, and outside contractors as needed.
Lead the project team to develop the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) and the project timeline.
Day to day project execution through advance planning and scheduling, prioritizing, complying with safety requirements such as permitting process and LOTO.
Field checks and supervision ensuring quality construction and installation standards are followed.
Routine reviews to track project progress and update department leads, managers and stakeholders.
Ensures effective communication between the cross-functional team members; fosters teamwork, motivates team, and aim towards continual improvement.
Audits field work execution and authorizes stop work notices if required with appropriate feedback and corrective actions.
Maintains a safe work environment.
Performs above-mentioned responsibilities safely, ethically and in compliance with all federal and state regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned by Plant Engineering Director or Senior Project Manager.
Requirements Education / Certificates / Languages Needed / IT Skills Needed: This position requires an engineer with approximately 3 - 7 years' experience.
A 4-year bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required; BS in Chemical Engineering preferred.
Experience in execution of CAPEX project work from inception and FEL engineering work through detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning in an operating plant is required.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite software (Word.
Excel, Teams) as well as MS Project is a plus.
Working knowledge of PSM (process safety management) processes and systems is a plus.
Work experience in a batch chemical processing facility or oil & gas industries is a plus.
