Roles and Responsibilities:
Read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
Prepare the necessary project takeoff for the work to be included.
Quantify the amount of stonework according to the Company's procedures.
Prepare and utilize sketches to supplement the takeoff.
Review revised contract drawings and incorporate any changes affecting the pricing into a current project takeoff.
Research and request product pricing for various project bid aspects.
Originate RFI's - submit and follow up on the status of bids.
Update and maintain the bid tracking system.
Attend pre-bid meetings or conferences to understand the scope of the work, as-built conditions, etc.
Assist in the project turnover to Operations upon the project's award.
Assist project managers in review of changes to the project during the project's cycle.
Foster positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
Qualifications: Minimum of an associate degree in Drafting or Construction Management.
Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating, emphasis on stone masonry.
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and contract specifications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word), as well as construction-specific software such as Bluebeam.
Ability to work with deadlines and make timely and effective decisions on scope and details.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
Foreign language(s) a plus for overseas supplier management, but not required.
Knowledge of construction techniques, stonework and stone masonry is a plus.
Proficiency in Auto-CAD a plus or other drafting programs.
Strong work ethic.
