Project Management / Lead Analyst (Life Sciences / Biosafety)Clearance: Must have an active Secret clearance
This position includes a supervisory element responsible for managing personnel within multiple life science portfolios. Providing leadership and guidance for groups of senior analysts that conduct research and analysis for The Department of Homeland Security / Science & Technology (S&T). Applies management expertise, process improvement, and principles to ensure overall project compliance.
Develops and implements quality control and efficiency methodologies to ensure compliance with project quality assurance standards, guidelines, and procedures in a large organization. Conducts formal and informal reviews of predetermined points throughout the project life cycle. Provides direct support to Federal Clients and other senior personnel conducting scientific activities related to: Treaty and Regulatory Compliance, Biosafety Compliance, the Biological Weapons Convention and the Chemical Weapons Convention, Animal Welfare concerns, and Human Subject Research Protections compliance.
Responsibilities:In this position, the successful applicant will require:
Ability to work both independently and collaborativelyProficiency in developing technical and strategic recommendations to achieve program objectivesDemonstrated experience in executing and reviewing technical and scientific studiesCapable of developing and maintaining key documents and plans that incorporate all relevant studies and analysesDemonstrated experience supporting senior leadership on complex tasks and studiesProven experience managing a diverse team in support of evolving leadership prioritiesJob Requirements:Must possess and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (Secret or above)Master's degree in Life Sciences, Biosafety, Biodefense, Nonproliferation, or related subject areaSpecific knowledge of or experience with the BWC / CWCStrong familiarity with the life sciences (through coursework or past work experience)Extensive experience writing for both technical and non-technical audiencesStrong oral communication skillsPreferred qualifications:PhD in Life Sciences, Biosafety, Biodefense, Nonproliferation, or related subject areaDirect experience working with or supporting government clients, at the federal, state, and/or local levelsExperience engaging with senior government or private sector leadershipFamiliarity with homeland security mission areas and the roles of science and technology in building capabilities to support these areasCurrent U.S. government security clearanceType of Job: Full Time
