At Flynn, it's not just a job, it's a career Project Manager Assistant -Commercial Roofing Boise, ID Flynn Group of Companies 60K-85K (DOE) This key position will act as a Project Engineer and is responsible for providing the support for the entire life cycle of their projects and support to other project managers. The Assistant Project Manager is a vital connection between all departments and will be the main point of contact for their projects as they learn. The Assistant Project Manager learns and grows by helping with directing, organizing and controlling project activities, under the direction of a Project Manager. They will learn to maximize the efficiency and profit of the project by purchasing materials under budget, offering value engineered options, tracking project schedule and oversee the disbursement of materials and men to a particular jobsite.
Day in the life: Responsibilities · Development and Implementation of the project schedule, sequencing, & shop/field labor planning · Serve as Flynn liaison for Owners, Consultants, GC, Architect, and engineers · Assist Project Management in compiling and coordinating submittals · Review scope and contract documents along with Flynn shop drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and manufactures instructions · Review of Material take-off's, BOMs, and releases · Responsible for cost control (materials, labor, equipment, etc.) · Maintain PFP, billings, and billing projections on a monthly basis per Flynn processes · Draft and track requests for change orders (RCO's) · Issuing and tracking of PO's and materials (Get multiple quotes to get best pricing) per Flynn processes · Compile and submit to the project team a field binder with required information · Help with equipment planning and logistics · Written communication to general contractor, architect and consultants · Order and maintain the team's equipment needs per the teams requests · Generate RFI's and communicate changes internally · Maintain internal check and balance systems according to Flynn processes and policies · Assist Project Management with writing and processing purchase orders · Exercise effective communication---both internal and external · Contract scope reviews prior to contract signatures · Champion with the Safety Specialists and Superintendent/ Foreman the Flynn safety standards on their projects · Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent, where applicable, in the day-to-day duties of a project's administration. · Working closely under the guidance and direction of the Project Manager and Superintendent, learn and apply Flynn systems and methods. Supporting the processes and procedures of the Branch What you bring: Qualifications Degree in Construction Management or equivalent; or 3-5 years' related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
