Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesDefines and executes overall technical project plans, including financial and people resources that allows the projects to meet objectives and remain within budget. Drives the project progress, reconfirming the project's value proposition, and recommending the progression (or elimination) of the project to leadership, as appropriate.Monitors for changes in requirements/scope or other assumptions, predicted level of risk, resource requirements and schedule.Sets key project messages and handles the information flow related to project direction, issues, needs, and progress with key project constituencies including business leadership, corporate leadership, customers, and team members.Oversees product testing and evaluation and drives manufacturing implementation of requirements.Ensures that intellectual property is protected.Utilizes Corning's Tollgate process as appropriate to direct project activities.We anticipate 5-10% travel for this role at times depending on the program. May involve international travel.Required Education and ExperienceWe require a Bachelor's Degree – preferably in a technical field (Engineering or Physical Sciences).2-5 years experience with Project Management / Leadership in leading internal or external teams.Ability to lead cross functional teams (commercial, technical, operations) in execution of projects, risk management, problem solving and execution of strategy.Proven technical aptitude with ability to discern technical approaches by asking the right questions of the team and communicate updates across multiple organizational levels.Ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external customers.Able to make sound decisions by blending analytical thinking with practical judgment, bias toward action.Desired SkillsExperience with a Stage Gate Product Development Process.Experience in optics a plus.Entrepreneurial attitude and approach toward creating new engineered products.A passionate and creative problem solver.Organized, meticulous attention to detail, self-starter, and motivated.Proficient use of Microsoft Office Tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project).This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $79,584.00 - $109,428.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
