We are looking for a seasoned
Project Manager, Senior I (temporary employee)
to join our Project Management team.
In this role you will work under a 'Project Leadership Team (PLT)' structure and will be engaging closely with Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Engineering and Product Leadership, Project Managers, and diverse technical teams to manage projects from planning through closure.
Project Leadership Team (PLT)
The PLT comprises of the Project Manager, Product Manager and Engineering Lead. All three work as a business unit and are equally accountable to ensure successful delivery of projects and initiatives. The Project Manager is responsible for driving the projects in addition to being a PLT member.
The chosen candidate will be working on a combination of our Next Generation Radio projects and AR220 Radio projects.
Responsibilities:
Leadership:
Lead the project through requirements gathering, planning and kick off phases.
Have a thorough understanding of the Project Approval Form (PAF) for the projects being managed.
Work with Finance, PLT and project sponsor to create and implement Change Requests for scope, schedule and/or budget.
Identify, document, and inform executive management of issues and risks impacting projects.
Develop and evaluate options to resolve or mitigate identified issues and risks.
Facilitate communications between team members and eliminate barriers in getting work done.
Regularly communicate status of projects to leadership and stakeholders.
Understand how to formulate Statement of Work (SOW) and manage the SOW scope through the life of the contract.
Contribute to the overall improvement of Project Management best practices within Meteorcomm.
Schedule Management:
Create and maintain detailed project plans for cross-functional teams such as Hardware, Firmware, Embedded Software, Integration and Endurance Test, Documentation, Release Management, Build and Manufacturing.
Interface with the Hardware Project Manager on internal/external hardware deliverables that contribute to the project's plan.
Work with the project team to identify key project dependencies and manage them successfully.
Budget Management:
Validate forecasts entered by Functional Managers for the project and ensure they are appropriate for the scope of the project.
Monitor health of project budget in comparison to the actuals, forecasts, and cost to come using our financial reporting tool.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
7-10 years of proven ability to lead complex technical projects utilizing various methodologies (SAFe, Waterfall, DevOps, etc.).
Working knowledge of hardware and embedded software development lifecycles.
Ability to drill into technical details and comfortable learning new technologies.
Expert understanding of MS Office, MS Project, and Project Management Tools.
Experience with using Budgeting, Forecasting, and Invoicing tools.
Excellent facilitation skills to drive focused discussions and decisions.
A confident self-starter who can successfully navigate fast-changing environment.
Strong organizational, planning, and analysis skills to drive action.
Keen attention to detail.
A trusted stakeholder partner with the ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
Flexibility to celebrate successes and drive resolution of conflicts before they become issues.
A mentor and coach to other project managers across the organization.
Curiosity and drive for improvement and innovation efforts (no matter how big or small).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills producing clear, unambiguous deliverables and presentations.
Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization from individual contributors to executives, including President in one-on-one and group situations.
Desired Qualifications:
PMP or other Project Management Certification.
Understanding of wireless systems or technologies within the telecommunications industry.
Familiarity of or interest in the railway industry.

Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $108,202 to $167,712.
This is a hybrid position based in Renton WA. Our current hybrid schedule requires working onsite Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. Starting out as a new temporary employee is required to be onsite M-F for the first two months of employment.
This is a temporary fulltime position for up to 12 months.
