Property Accountant

It's an exciting time to be a member of our Real Estate Finance team.  Our business is growing and looking to invest in building a Finance dedicated team to support this significant real estate growth.  The Opportunity: As the Property Accountant, you will be responsible for accounting responsibilities related to our commercial real estate properties – area will be with our Plano, Texas campus consisting of nine buildings with approximately 1M sq. ft. and 100+ tenants.  Reporting to the Real Estate Controller, you will have daily interactions with property accounting personnel, facility personnel and vendors.  You will help ensure proper controls are in place and develop and implement processes to improve the efficiency of the team and those we work with. The Day-to-Day: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements / reporting packages, journal entries and maintain the general ledgerReconcile monthly bank statements to the general ledgerRecord and process accounts payable and accounts receivableProcess cash receipts and prepare bank depositsPrepare common area maintenance and real estate tax reconciliationsHelp prepare annual operating budgetsSet up new leases and vendors in the accounting systemAssist management with special projects and other tasks as assignedWork onsite, under management, in a team-based and open office environment Your Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required, degree in business, accounting or a similar field Minimum 2 years of commercial real estate property accounting experience       Experience with Yardi or relative software requiredStrong qualitative and quantitative skills requiredAbility to adapt to changes in a fast paced, team environmentAbility to prioritize workload and manage time across various tasksWhy Fisher Investments: We work for a bigger purpose: bettering the investment universe.
