Legacy Community Health is a premium, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides comprehensive care to community members regardless of their ability to pay. Our goal is to treat the entire patient while improving their overall wellness and quality of life, in addition to providing free pregnancy tests and HIV/AIDS screening. Our roots began in 1981 as the Montrose Clinic, specializing in HIV education, testing, and treatment. Since then, the agency has expanded to over 50 clinics in Houston, one in Baytown, two in Beaumont, and one in Deer Park, with extensive services that include adult primary care, HIV/AIDS care, pediatrics, OB/GYN and maternity, dental, vision, and behavioral health. Job Description Provides a full range of psychiatric services to Legacy Community Health FQHC clients with the aim of improving the mental health and quality of life of the patients served.
Essential Functions Perform assessments and provide treatment to clients of the Clinic.Keep regularly scheduled hours as agreed upon in the Service Agreement and actively see patients in the Clinic.Meet or exceed productivity requirements as set forth by the Chief Medical Officer and the Director of Behavioral Health.Develop and maintain clinical diagnostic and treatment protocols for psychiatric treatment.Be available by phone during regular Clinic hours should assistance be required and outside of regular Clinic hours as scheduled.Assist in the review and development of patient educational material before release to patients.Supervise health care students assigned to the Clinic for educational purposes.Develop and maintain a program for clinical quality assurance.Supervise non-physician providers, including Licensed Therapists, Neuropsychologists (re-testing), and our Behavioral Health Coordinators, with respect to psychiatric treatment.Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention, including FQHC-required voluntary family planning services and related preventative health services in compliance with funding requirements and state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.Attend meetings as necessary.Participate in the Performance Improvement Program.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Education, Certifications, Licenses & Training Must be a Medical Doctor, Board-certified (or Board-eligible and working toward certification) in Psychiatry with a current Texas License.Must uphold the Code of Ethics of their professional licensing entity.Must complete the minimum hours of continuing education to maintain professional license.Must maintain good standing with professional licensing board.Provider shall obtain, maintain and participate in the Medicare and Medicaid Programs, workers' compensation, other federal and state reimbursement programs, and the payment plan of any commercial insurer, health maintenance organization, preferred provider organization, accountable health plan, and other health benefit program requested by Legacy.Ability to meet Legacy Community Health's EPIC proficiency requirements.Required Years of Experience Experienced candidates preferred; residents considered.Desirable Education and/or Experience 3 years of Psychiatry experience, Adult Med, Geriatrics.As part of our values that Healthcare is a Right and not a Privilege, we offer a suite of benefits:
