LOCATION OF POSITION: Maryland Department of Health, Multiple locations within Central Maryland
Main Purpose of Job: A Psychiatrist Clinical Graduate, MDH is the intermediate level of work providing clinical psychiatric services to patients who are mentally ill, chronically ill, or developmentally disabled, or are in need of medical and preventive treatment. These positions are located at 24/7 MDH facilities in Central Maryland (Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Carroll, Cecil, Charles, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, Prince Georges, and St. Mary's Counties and Baltimore City). Employees in this classification do not supervise other psychiatrists but may supervise health care support staff. This position is required to participate in 24/7 on-call psychiatric coverage on a monthly basis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Determined by the Maryland Board of Physicians.Experience: Determined by the Maryland Board of Physicians.LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS: Incumbents must be eligible for Certification in Psychiatry from the Maryland Board of Physicians by 18 months after the date of hire. Failure to do so will result in termination.Applicants must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State Law by date of hire. A copy of a current Maryland medical license should be attached to the application.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
