About the Job: Psychiatrist General We are seeking a dedicated General Psychiatrist to join our leading psychiatric facility in Des Moines, IA. Opened in February 2021, our 100-bed state-of-the-art facility specializes in comprehensive psychiatric services across all age groups including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. This full-time, on-site staff position offers a challenging yet rewarding work environment where you will primarily handle an adult caseload within both in-patient and partial hospitalization settings. Compensation: DOE
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Daily rounding and management of admissions. Providing comprehensive daily care to assigned patients. Actively participating in treatment team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment plans. Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team including psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals. Adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure the highest quality of care. Maintaining up-to-date records of patient services and progress. Minimum Position Qualifications: Medical degree from an accredited institution and a current valid license to practice psychiatry. Completion of residency in Psychiatry. Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry. Demonstrated experience in in-patient or PHP psychiatric settings. Strong understanding of the latest psychiatric treatments and therapies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate bedside manner. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with both adults and adolescents. Knowledgeable in the management of mental health issues across various age groups. Proven record of clinical excellence and patient-centric approach. Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic healthcare environment. Ability to guide and motivate a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient outcomes. Interest and capability in conducting or participating in clinical research. Skills: Strong diagnostic capabilities for a wide range of psychiatric conditions. Effective crisis management and decision-making skills. Empathy and excellent listening skills to understand patient needs effectively. Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity towards patient information. Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR) and telepsychiatry systems. Commitment to ongoing professional development and education in psychiatry.
