Seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatric Consultant to work with patients 4-5 days a week on an outpatient and inpatient program in the San Fernando Valley. One day can be telehealth but other days must be in person. Experience with patients with co-occurring substance use disorders preferred. Work as part of a team with mental health therapists, case managers, and administrative staff. Good interpersonal and patient care skills required. Hours are during the day Monday-Friday, but should be open to helping out with coverage for the inpatient unit occasionally in the evenings or weekends. Please submit resume online. CATEGORIES OF DUTIES
1. Psychiatric Evaluations
2. Medication Consultations
3. Participation in Medical Staff meetings and committees, as requested, including peer review
4. Consultation and training of staff, as requested
5. Utilization Review, when requested, including phone calls to physicians and case managers
6. On Call availability, as needed
7. A monthly schedule of hours working at Tarzana Treatment Center, to be provided prior to the start of each month to the Clinical Director
8. Completion of the credentialing, privileging and Medical Staff application/re-application process
EDUCATION
Current California Sate License in Psychiatry Medical Doctor with Psychiatric specialty
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two (2) years experience in evaluating and/or treating persons suffering from substance abuse.
