We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric care to our clients, including evaluations, medication management, and therapeutic interventions. Candidates must possess a medical degree from an accredited school, with a residency and board eligibility (preferably certification) in child, adolescent, or adult psychiatry. Additionally, at least one year of experience working with mentally ill individuals and a current New York State Education Department and DEA license are required. The Psychiatrist should have a comprehensive understanding of mental health diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, personality development factors, and social influences on mental health. Key skills include prioritization, multitasking, critical thinking, organization, communication, and computer proficiency.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Psychiatrist is primarily responsible for conducting psychiatric evaluations, managing medication, and educating individuals requiring mental health assessments and/or medication. Collaboration with other staff on treatment-related issues is also expected. Essential duties encompass meeting productivity standards, providing evaluations, assessing needs and creating treatment plans, educating clients, coordinating medication, maintaining records, consulting with colleagues, participating in team conferences, providing coverage for other practitioners, completing required orders, offering crisis intervention, supervising Nurse Practitioners, and completing external evaluations.
The Psychiatrist must adhere to ethical standards, maintaining a positive image for the organization and profession. This includes practicing self-care, maintaining appropriate boundaries, completing training, and promptly reporting ethical concerns. Effective communication and collaboration within the agency are crucial, emphasizing teamwork, openness, conflict resolution, and confidentiality. Administrative tasks, such as timely timesheet submission and maintaining high customer satisfaction, are also required. The role primarily involves sitting and working on a computer, with potential for other physical demands.
Salary is based on experience and work hours.
