Position Summary
As a PACT psychiatrist, you will function within the ACT team. You will provide and direct medical and psychiatric services to PACT outpatients who are living in the community. Duties include:
* Participating and planning for comprehensive clinical and rehabilitation services for persons with severe and persistent mental illness in the community.
* Providing clinical supervision, education, and training of PACT staff and students.
* Providing clinical consultation on the ACT model.
* Participating with PACT team in hosting visitors and disseminating technical assistance on the ACT model of care.
Weekend and evening on-call hours are required.
Salary Information
* The starting pay is up to $135.44 per hour, depending on qualifications, plus up to $23.00 per hour add-on for a board certification in psychiatry.
* A 12-month probationary period is required.
* Pay for current or former state employees is set based upon the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is in pay schedule and range 10/52.
Job Details
* All applicants will be required to allow DHS to conduct a caregiver background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.
* All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by the facility or medical personnel directed by the facility within 30 days of the start date.
* DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification upon hire.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have:
* Possession of a license to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin, or ability to obtain a license prior to appointment, plus a minimum of three (3) years of training in an approved residency in psychiatry. Board Certification in General Psychiatry is expected within three (3) years of hire. Well-qualified candidates will also have one or more of the following:
* Experience working with adults with severe psychiatric disorders.
* Experience working on a multidisciplinary treatment team.
* Experience working with clients with substance use disorders.
* Experience with Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Community Support Programs (CSP), or crisis experience in the community.
