Description SUMMARY Board certified child and adolescent Psychiatrist to handle inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: Appointments for initial med evaluations: Completed within 45 minutes to an hour Appointments for continuing med management clients: Completed within 20 to 30 minutes Use of telepsych equipment to ensure medication needs of clients across the AYN footprint: At least 50% of the time Every child entering AYN's array has an assessment: Completed within 30 days Documentation of discharge summaries: Completed within 14 days ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Perform medical assessments for new clients admitted to The Relatives, PRTF, and foster care in all agency locations as needed. Provide medical care and/or consultation as appropriate for residential clients within scope of practice for credentials. Assist Alexander Youth Network in maximizing billing for services provided. Arrange schedule to be available for medication management, based on demand at all Alexander locations at least one time per month. Provide medication administration audits and/or consultation to the un-licensed staff to agency locations, except the main campus. Exercise professional judgment in all matters involving professional relationships and follow the standards of professional care, conduct, and responsibility applicable to rendering professional services. Cover on call duties at least one weekend per month for restrictive interventions and consultation. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, etc. Maintain open lines of communication with other departments. Attend training sessions as required for position and to maintain license/certification requirements. Explain procedures and treatments to clients to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension through awareness of comfort and safety needs of client. Observe client, record significant conditions and reactions, and relay information regarding patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Respond to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol, including taking vital signs. Initiate a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the client, as prescribed by center's policy including patient and family instruction. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE M.D. degree. Board Eligible or Board Certified Psychiatrist. Must have and maintain a current Controlled Substances Registration Certificate from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Must have and maintain a current Physician License and Controlled Substance License from the State. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to develop evidenced based practices and analyze programmatic outcomes. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common professional journals. Ability to respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints from clients and families, and outside treatment providers, and members of the community. Ability to write articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to management and public groups.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
