Compensation

Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.
Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need.
The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.


Status: Per Diem

Shift: 10 HOUR DAY SHIFT

Department: Outpatient Dialysis

Position Summary

Summary:
The Hemodialysis Patient Care Technician is a member of the nursing staff who provides patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.
Is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of the Department and the Hospital.


Qualifications

Responsibilities:
Education Required
•Must complete in-house orientation program
•High school graduation or equivalent required.


Experience And Skills
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Speaks, reads and writes English
•Hemodialysis technician training course required.

•Dialysis experience strongly preferred.


License/Certifications
•Certification required for employees with 18-months of HPCT experience.
Acceptable certifications include: State Hemodialysis PCT certification or BONENT certification or CCHT certification by the Nephrology Nursing Commission or CCNT.

•BLS certification for the Health Care Provider by the American Heart Association

•Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn
•Primarily standing.

•Ability to bend, transport patients from wheelchair and stretcher to dialysis chair and bed.

•Able to lift 50 lbs.

•Walk distances from within unit and throughout the hospital.
Escort patients to and from unit.
