PT - Office Clerk, La Paz County/Parker Salary: $15.00 per hour.


Summary of Function: Provides support services for students, staff, faculty, and the public of La Paz County.


Typical Duties: Serves Students.
Responsible for AWC, ABE, ESOL/ELL/ELA admission, registration, proctoring of tests, cashiering and payments, intake, follow-up, onboarding, and outreach support for new, and returning students.
Assists in the enrollment process, financial aid, and in the handling of all confidential materials pertaining to AWC, ABE, ESOL/ELL/ELA student records.
Assist AWC, ABE, ESOL/ELL/ELA students with navigating the LMS, Office tools, adult basic education learning platforms, and
with connecting to remote student support services.
Processes new and updated information in the designated computer database system.
Provide general college and specific departmental information to staff; AWC, ABE, ESOL/ELL/ELA students; and the public on the phone, online, and in person.
Answer
phones, take detailed messages, and transfer calls to the appropriate departments district-wide.
Provide event support.
Direct patrons to event space; answer questions related to the event to include proper use of equipment; empty trash receptacles; submit event support communication logs as needed; ensure that event locations are properly locked, secured, and free of any attendees prior to leaving.
Monitor fitness center.
Monitor and log the use of the facility and ensure proper use and care of all equipment; ensure the use of the facility by authorized patrons and maintain patron records; inspect and sanitize equipment, gym floors, and mirrors; request equipment maintenance and repair; request and restock supplies; respond to
emergencies and injuries within scope of training.
Complete and submit all necessary injury/incident-related reports.
Provide support services for AWC, ABE, ESOL/ELL/ELA students when in-person, remote, and with distance education courses and learning environments.. Ensure that all areas of the assignment are cleaned, properly locked, and secured at the shift's end.
Participate in and successfully complete work-related training Supports and participate in strategic initiatives and performs other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent One year of experience working in customer service or working directly with the public, or working in a related field Computer literate and able to navigate online platforms Preferred: Knowledge of Arizona Western College Three years of experience working in customer service or working directly with the public, or working in a related field Bilingual (English/Spanish) One year of data entry experience Additional Eligibility Requirements: CPR and First Aid certified or be able to obtain certification within one month of employment TABE Proctor Certification or be able to obtain certification within one month of employment Classification: Non-Exempt Position Type & Work Schedule: Part-time Position, working up to 19 hours per week Position may require evening and weekend hours Flexible rotating schedule Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to become familiar with Microsoft Office Strong communication skills, verbal and written Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to coordinate, organize, communicate, and present with a diverse population Ability to comply with confidentiality and the proper handling of sensitive information Customer service and relationship-building skills Teamworking skills Organization and time management skills Attention to detail Flexibility Work Environment: Majority of the work assignment takes place indoors Some duties may require working outdoors Physical Demands: Position requires occasional moving about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Prolonged sitting and viewing of a computer Long periods of standing and/or walking Position may require moving of equipment weighing up to 20 pounds Travel: Minimal travel required Note: Position is located in Parker, AZ No benefits POSTING DATE: October 16, 2024
