Job summary
The Public Information Officer 3 (PIO3) has primary responsibility for the support and implementation of an effective strategic media relations plans.This position will be a part of the Port of New Orleans Marketing and Communications team and will report directly to the Public Information Director 1.Port NOLA offers competitive benefits that prioritize safety, health and wellness for our employees.

Responsibilities
• Assist with developing content and collateral, working with internal staff and contractors to see projects to completion on deadline.• Support and execute media relations strategies and initiatives for the Port of New Orleans.• Support and execute website content curation and maintenance, ensuring it is current and effective.• Research and compose op-eds, one-pagers and press releases that interpret Port messaging for the public and media.• Support and execute social media outreach campaigns and calendars across the port's social media channels.
Requirements
• A baccalaureate degree plus two years of professional level experience in marketing, public relations, library science, and/or the research, written preparation and dissemination of information to the public or on behalf of an organization.• Experience in marketing, public relations, library science, and/or the research, written preparation and dissemination of information to the public or on behalf of an organization will substitute for the required degree.• Experience in English, speech, journalism, marketing, mass communications, broadcasting, library science, public relations, or a combination of the above courses will substitute for the required experience.• Graduate training in English, speech, journalism, marketing, mass communications, broadcasting, public relations or library science will substitute for the required experience.• A master's degree in English, speech, journalism, marketing, mass communications, broadcasting, public relations or library science will substitute for the required experience.
