About the Role:

As a Public Relations Associate, you will play a vital role in shaping and maintaining the public image of Umpqua Holdings Corporation. You will work closely with various teams to develop and implement effective communication strategies that promote our brand, engage our audience, and support our business objectives. This position is ideal for individuals ranging from entry-level to senior-level experience, who are passionate about public relations and eager to contribute to a forward-thinking organization.


Key Responsibilities: Media Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and influencers to secure media coverage for Umpqua Holdings Corporation. Craft compelling press releases, media kits, and other communication materials to effectively convey our messages. Content Creation: Collaborate with internal teams to create engaging content for various platforms, including social media, blogs, newsletters, and corporate communications. Ensure that all content aligns with our brand voice and messaging. Event Coordination: Assist in planning and executing public relations events, including press conferences, product launches, and community outreach initiatives. Manage logistics, coordinate with vendors, and ensure all events run smoothly. Crisis Communication: Support the development and implementation of crisis communication plans. Monitor media coverage and public sentiment, and assist in crafting timely and appropriate responses to any issues that may arise. Research and Analysis: Conduct research on industry trends, competitor activities, and audience preferences to inform public relations strategies. Analyze the effectiveness of PR campaigns and provide recommendations for improvement. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and customer service, to ensure consistent messaging and alignment of public relations efforts with overall business goals. Reporting: Prepare regular reports on media coverage, campaign performance, and audience engagement metrics to share with stakeholders and inform future strategies. Requirements: Experience: We welcome applications from candidates at all levels of experience, from entry-level to senior-level professionals. Relevant experience in public relations, communications, or a related field is preferred.
