Job Summary:
The Metal Stamping Setup Person is responsible for setting up and operating metal stamping presses and equipment to produce high-quality metal components.
This role involves preparing machines, adjusting tools and dies, and ensuring that production runs efficiently, safely, and according to specifications.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities: Set up and adjust metal stamping presses, including selecting and installing dies, adjusting guides, and setting stroke length and depth.
Interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications to determine setup requirements.
Perform machine startups, including initial runs and adjustments to achieve quality standards.
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to die and press setups to minimize downtime.
Perform quality checks on finished parts to ensure they meet specifications and standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
Collaborate with team members, including operators, quality inspectors, and supervisors, to ensure efficient production flow.
Record and report production data, including parts produced, machine downtime, and quality issues.
Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in metalworking, machining, or a related field is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in metal stamping setup and operation, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of metal stamping processes, tools, and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
Experience with various types of metal stamping presses (e.g., mechanical, hydraulic) and associated tooling.
Familiarity with measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers) and quality inspection techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary: $24-$30 per hour, negotiable based on experience.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6 am 4:30 pm; Fridays dependent on workload.
