A Louisville-based food manufacturer located in Jeffersontown is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing and Logistics Specialist to manage and optimize purchasing and logistics operations. This role ensures timely, cost-effective procurement and efficient inbound and outbound logistics to support uninterrupted production.
[This is a full-time, non-exempt, on-site position] Plan and execute purchasing strategies to secure quality inputs at optimal pricing.Manage vendor negotiations and compliance with food safety standards (SQF).Monitor inventory, input specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy in QuickBooks.Evaluate open orders daily to ensure on-time delivery.Stay informed on market trends and competitor strategies in purchasing and logistics. Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field (preferred but not required).5 years of purchasing and logistics experience in food manufacturing (preferred).Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Attention to detail, urgency, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Office-based with regular interaction in production, warehousing, and shipping areas.Ability to lift/move up to 30 lbs occasionally.Minimal travel to vendor facilities for audits or inspections may be required.
