Profile:The Purchasing Manager is a key leader responsible for managing all procurement activities. Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, this role manages the daily procurement activities with focus on total cost of acquisition and mitigation of supply risk, process improvements, systems enhancement, and personnel growth. This role is critical in leading the team to improve our position for growth. Key metrics will be focused on material availability and inventory turns with an emphasis on efficiency improvement.
Primary Responsibilities:Plan and manage the company's ingredient and packaging inventoryStay in tune with and understand company's operations needs and requirementsBuild and manage relationships with vendors and key suppliersNegotiate pricing and control costsManage team KPI's and OKR'sDevelop a yearly budget depending on procurement and inventory needsExecute analyses and make suggestions for improvement of overall procurement strategyKeep abreast of industry and market trends and best practicesAdhere to all relevant guidelines and regulationsSupport NPD initiativesComply with GMP, personal hygiene, HACCP and other quality and employee safety programsResponsible for maintaining and enforcing all food safety, employee safety and quality policies and procedures Skills and Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years in a purchasing management roleProven team development skillsTeam playerGood time-management skillsGreat communication, interpersonal and networking skillsAbility to effectively communicate and interact when working with cross-functional teamsStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects and adapt to changing deadlinesAbility to take initiative and work independentlySense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company's successCritical thinker and problem-solving skillsStrong computer skills, Word, Excel, OutlookBachelor's degree or higherCPM or CPSC is a bonus
