GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for managing staff that will prepare budgets for their market(s) as well produce budgets for new projects in the market. develop, evaluate, and maintain adequate trade base to meet the Division(s) business plan. Provide routine cost reports and cost evaluation as well as guidance for land purchases and product roll out. Work with the software system to maintain division plan and option offering.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Purchasing Director with implementation of new subcontractorsImplement options mapping and new community build out as laid out by Purchasing DirectorScrub jobs to ensure budget accuracy Negotiate subcontractor pricing to achieve cost reductions Find qualified trade partners who can provide cost effective construction and quality Participate and prepare reporting, tracking and rebate information on Net Plus Contract Program Update approved bid listsPerform all other duties as assigned EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE At least two (2) years of experience in estimating or purchasing for a production residential builderBachelor's degree preferred, but not requiredExperience with New Star Enterprise or Equivalent Software and electronic take off (preferred) but not requiredMS Office and proficiency with spreadsheetsSelf-motivated with attention to detail, positive attitude and ability to work as a team memberOrganization and time management skills are a necessityExceptional communication skills – both written and verbalComfortable presenting ideas and solutions to leadership and key business partnersStrong attention to detailAbility to establish and maintain strong relationshipsProficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and WordValid Driver's License PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. Vision abilities required by the job are close vision.
