POSITION SUMMARYLocated just 45 minutes west of downtown St. Louis on more than 300 acres, Purina Farms is home to our well-known Visitor Center and the Purina Event Center. This family-friendly attraction offers pet lovers of all ages an opportunity to get up close and personal with barnyard animals and amazing dogs and cats.
As an Associate Animal Care Coordinator at Purina Farms you will be responsible for the overall care, needs, and required records of resident animals at Purina Farms. Additionally, you will maintain the cleanliness of the various buildings and grounds, set-up and tear-down event equipment, and take inventory of daily operational supplies.
ScheduleThe schedule for this position will require working the following schedule on alternating weeks from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm with occasional evenings:
Week 1: Working Days-Monday-Friday/Off Days- Saturday and SundayWeek 2: Working Days Monday-Wednesday and Saturday and Sunday/ Off Days- Thursday and FridayResponsibilitiesOverall care and maintenance of resident animals, to include feeding, grooming/bathing, exercising, and performing routine medical care when necessary.Event set-up (indoor and outdoor arenas); arranging equipment such as tables, chairs, gating, matting, artificial turf, ramps, fencing, pipe and drape, porta potties, tents, bleachers and other items as deemed necessary.Maintain property and overall building cleanliness, reporting any discrepancies to management.Delegate daily duties to third party contractors during shift to accomplish tasks necessary for the daily operation of Purina Farms.Follow USDA and Missouri Department of Agriculture standards for handling, care, treatment and completion of required records of resident animals, notifying management when deficiencies have been found.RequirementsHigh School Diploma or Equivalency.1+ year experience in animal husbandry and/or regular care of animals.Other6+ months forklift experience in a production, agricultural, manufacturing, military or related environment preferred. CompensationThe approximate pay range for this position is $33,000 - $46,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
