OVERVIEW:

As a PV Professional Crew Leader, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of an array of PV projects. Reporting to the Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining vehicle cleanliness and organization, ensuring that your team is prepared with the correct and necessary equipment and materials, and assisting in site preparation and clean-up activities. Your role will involve supporting the installation team in various tasks, including material handling, equipment installation, and adherence to safety protocols. Additionally, you will interact with customers in a positive and professional manner while representing the company's commitment to excellence. The Lead Installer position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to task completion. Your dedication to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism will contribute to the overall success of our projects and the satisfaction of our customers and a harmonious work environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrates the highest level of professionalism and courtesy when interacting with colleagues, customers, and vendors

Advanced electrical knowledge

Three years of experience within the solar industry or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ideally has knowledge of monitoring systems for PV and PV + storage systems.

Licensed Journeyman Electrician or on the path of obtaining certification required for higher end of rate scale

Ensure work performed by all electricians is compliant with current NEC and local codes, and manufacturer specifications

Candidate owns, maintains, and uses their own hand tools

Positive outlook even when challenged with physically or mentally demanding situations

Works well in a small team environment and can take directions

Promotes and follows company policies/procedures and HIOSH regulations

Valid Hawaii issued driver's license and a clean driver's record (i.e., no DUIs in the past five years, no speeding tickets over 20 MPH, etc.)

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the lead responsible for ensuring operational efficiency and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and professionalism, you will oversee the following key responsibilities:

Job Site Organization and Cleanliness:

Manage maintenance of job site, company vehicles, and other company property by ensuring it is free from any debris or trash, particularly cardboard remnants from previous tasks and equipment and material are kept organized.

Facilitate the submission of part returns and ensure that parts are appropriately stored and organized within the vehicle.

Preparation and Logistics:

Coordinate the preparation for the day's tasks by replenishing water coolers and ensuring an adequate supply for the team.

Assist in pulling materials and tools as directed by the field supervisor, ensuring all necessary equipment is readily available for installations.

Restock the vehicle with installation equipment and materials to maintain readiness for upcoming projects.

Site/team Management and Customer Interaction:

Support general site preparation, including setting up tents, work tables, and staging areas, while maintaining a clean and professional job site appearance.

Communicate positively and effectively with customers, representing the company in a manner that reflects professionalism and dedication.

Task Execution and Safety Protocol:

Maintain constant communication with the field supervisor and other team members regarding task status and actively pursue completion of assigned tasks.

Participate in regular safety practices and adhere to safety protocols at job sites to ensure the well-being of the team and compliance with regulations.

Installation Assistance and Technical Support:

Execute tasks under the direction of the field supervisor, such as assisting with material transport, preparation for rail installation, and layout assistance.

Assist in various installation activities, including but not limited to preparing the roof for attachment points, mounting rails, bonding components, and passing up panels.

Equipment Installation and Electrical Work:

Collaborate in installing DC/AC circuits and conduit systems, pulling wires, and mounting equipment such as meters, disconnects, load centers, and inverters.

Ensure proper labeling of equipment as per code requirements and follow schematic layout diagrams and roof maps for accurate installation.

Documentation and Reporting:

Submit daily reports in a timely manner.

Obtain and upload all necessary photos to show progress and completion.

Perform safety inspections and mitigate any issues.

Additional Duties and Flexibility:

Remain flexible and responsive to additional duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and willingness to contribute to the overall success of the team.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, climb, bend, kneel, balance, stoop, walk and reach. The employee will frequently be required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Comfortable climbing ladders plus standing and working on residential rooftops (single and 2-story in both hot and cold weather).
