The Village of Palatine Department of Public Works is seeking a Summer Laborer Job Description/Description: Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
Operates a variety of light trucks and equipment in the repair, maintenance and construction of public works water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems, streets, and urban forest. Inspects and maintains vehicles and equipment; reports malfunctions to supervisor. Assists with the preparations and tear down/cleanup for events, festivals and special functions. Ability to tolerate both inside and outside environmental conditions. Position is performed under fluctuating and extreme temperatures, with some exposure to noise. Qualifications: Must be 18 or older and enrolled as a full-time student in college for fall 2024. Must possess a valid Illinois driver's license. Must be eligible for employment in the U.S. and pass a pre-employment background check and medical and drug screening (including cannabis). Salary: $16.00 per hour.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (40 hours per week).
Employment Duration: 3 months (summer).
