JOB DESCRIPTION Job Description
The Quality Analyst provides the means and measures for testing all functional and technical aspects of a software solution to assure that it meets the requirements and overall quality of the intended solution. The person in this role is responsible for creating, managing, and executing an end-to-end test strategy that includes functional, data, and performance testing and addresses reliability, stability, and compatibility with internal and external systems as required. The Quality Analyst II ensures that every phase and feature of the software solution is tested, and that potential risks and issues are identified and mitigated before the product goes into production. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews functional and design specifications to create a test strategy for the given application or integration.
Collaborates within the Scrum team to understand business needs and project requirements, provides task estimates and input on the testing approach, and raises issues potentially impacting project success.
Identifies potential risks or quality issues and communicates with the Scrum team.
Takes the customer experience into account and provides options as needed to balance project constraints against customer expectations.
Facilitates test strategy reviews with cross-functional team members.
Writes test cases ensuring requirements are met and expected outcomes are verified.
Conducts database testing and data validation using structured query language (SQL).
Develops, documents, and maintains functional test cases and other test artifacts including test data sets, data validation, harness scripts, and automated regression tests.
Executes manual and automated test cases and evaluates and reports test results.
Replicates reported defects and verified defect fixes.
Validates that deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
Writes, maintains, and runs smoke and regression tests for multiple applications on a regularly scheduled basis.
Approves builds for all scheduled releases.
Performs a wide range of variable tasks, including communicating with customers, vendors and partners to plan and execute application and integration tests. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or closely related field or equivalent combination of education and experience Work Experience
3 years of relevant software quality assurance experience
3 years of large enterprise or e-business systems experience
Expertise in database testing in a structured query language (SQL) environment including designing and manipulating test data, and querying for validating results
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment a plus
Experience working with quality assurance test management applications
Experience with legacy ERP systems a plus
Technical Skills
In depth knowledge of and experience using structured query language (SQL)
Ability to create clear, concise, detail-oriented test plans and strategies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Ability to work tenaciously and think abstractly to solve problems and identify root causes
Ability to learn business processes and operations and apply technical solutions.
