Job Title: Site QA/QC Manager – 500kV HVDC Substation Project Location: Delta, UT Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire About the Company: Our client is a leading EPC contractor specializing in large-scale infrastructure projects, including 500kV HVDC substations . They are gearing up for an exciting project in Delta, UT , and are looking to bring on an experienced Site QA/QC Manager to help ensure the highest quality standards for this complex and impactful project. The project is scheduled to mobilize in Q1 2024 , and this is an incredible opportunity to play a key role in a high-profile infrastructure development. Position Overview: As the Site QA/QC Manager , you will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities meet the project's quality management system (QMS) requirements and align with contract specifications. You will work closely with the client, construction team, and project stakeholders to oversee the execution of quality control procedures, manage audits, and resolve non-conformities. Your leadership will be key to driving quality assurance throughout the project, from inspection and testing to ongoing corrective actions and training. Key Responsibilities: Implement and enforce the Quality Management System (QMS) across all project stages. Act as the primary point of contact for QA/QC matters with the client and the project team. Review and coordinate Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) , procedures, and method statements with the Construction Manager. Ensure all components are installed according to contract specifications and approved submittals. Carry out inspections and testing at each project stage in line with the Quality Plan and contract requirements. Coordinate internal quality audits with the Construction Managers and ensure compliance. Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as needed, ensuring timely review and resolution. Manage the inspection, measuring, and test equipment used on the project and ensure proper controls are in place. Oversee the testing laboratory and manage the technicians responsible for quality testing. Monitor subcontractor performance for compliance with quality requirements. Identify quality training needs and arrange for necessary training sessions. Ensure that corrective and preventive actions are implemented for any product and system non-conformances identified during project execution. What We're Looking For: 15-20 years of QA/QC experience in the construction, startup, and operation of electrical substations or comparable facilities. Proven experience representing the EPC contractor and developing, implementing, and monitoring quality systems to meet project requirements. Strong knowledge of inspection and testing processes , as well as quality audits and corrective action plans . Experience managing inspection, measuring, and test equipment and leading quality assurance teams. Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work closely with both internal and external stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in a fast-paced construction environment.
