Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist for a 6-month contract position with one of our clients, a high-complexity CLIA lab in Vancouver, WA that is developing novel clinical diagnostics based on at-home collection kits If you're passionate about bringing the latest scientific discoveries to life and are ready to take the next step in your career, trust The Experts at Hiring Experts. Workplace: Onsite in Vancouver, WA Overview
The incumbent is responsible for documenting and maintaining a quality assurance system and supporting the system through audits, reports and changes as needed. Responsibilities Assist in writing and revising policies and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing, inspection, and certification in the areas of quality control and quality assurance in accordance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), College of American Pathologists (CAP), FDA, and/or other applicable regulations. Assist with quality system audits, document and report findings, and recommend corrective action as needed. Report findings to management. Maintain quality records and documentation in accordance with quality requirements. Maintain quality monitoring metrics analyzing and summarizing trends, root cause analysis, and review of corrective action and preventive measures. Serve as a supporting quality control resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting, and continuous improvement. Assist in proficiency testing programs. Review of validation/verification of assays prior to implementation. Maintenance and upkeep of the company's Document Control system. Evaluate employee training on SOPs and maintain training records and results of all laboratory personnel assuring all staff within the region have proper credentials for the work they perform. Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements of certifying and accrediting agencies by reviewing regulations, publications, and other resources necessary to remain current. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a science field is required with at least 24 semester hours in chemistry and/or biology. 1-3 years of relevant work experience with process analysis, process audit, compliance, QA systems implementation preferred. Very strong attention to detail. Technical writing and generation of forms and other laboratory documentation. Communication skills, both oral and written, to deal with a wide audience whose skill bases and objectives may differ. Strong computer skills including use of Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook). Multitask and coordinate multiple projects/ assignments simultaneously and completing assigned tasks accurately and on a timely basis. Ability to adapt in a constantly changing environment and the ability to work under tight deadlines. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients. Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques, and documentation. Knowledge of general data analysis, statistics and statistical process control. Knowledge of occupational safety and health rules and regulations. Prior experience in Quality preferred, with knowledge of CLIA and CAP requirements. Knowledge of laboratory techniques and vocabulary required, with experience setting up assays and/or experiments preferred. What happens next:
