Who we need Reporting to the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager, we are looking for a QA Supervisor to join our cutting-edge food production plant in Indiana. You will play a critical role in leading a team of QA lab technicians and overseeing daily QA activities ensuring compliance with industry regulations. You will manage quality control processes, implement standard operating procedures, and foster a collaborative and professional team environment. Whether you want to move up within QA or into another area of plant operations, you will be supported in your professional growth. What you will do: Oversee day-to-day QA operations. You will work on the floor with our product team, be hands-on with the technical equipment, ensure all processes and standards are being followed, and partner with external service providers. You will coordinate with the central quality team to gather, package, and send samples for customer requests, and manage specific testing as required. You will oversee the Dommers process, ensuring all raw materials meet specifications before entering the production process. You will monitor production lines and conduct inspections to ensure product quality. This is a day shift role but you will be required to be on-call for other shifts to provide QA oversight. Lead the team. You will manage the team, including approving time cards and scheduling technicians to ensure adequate coverage across shifts. You will assign, supervise, and guide the work of the QA team. You will provide initial onboarding as well as ongoing training to the QA staff across all three shifts, sharing knowledge on standards and ensuring the adoption of new procedures. You will mentor individuals, nurture cross-functional collaboration, resolve conflicts, and promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Maintain and optimize standards. You will conduct tests and internal audits at various stages of production. You will complete all associated documentation and ensure it complies with regulatory requirements. You will confirm all production processes comply with internal and external standards, such as HACCP, GMP, and other relevant regulations, and implement corrective actions for any non-conformities. You will create, update, and roll out standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance in QA practices. What you bring to the role: The experience. You are a proven QA Supervisor with direct experience in a food manufacturing environment. You have an understanding of food safety requirements and have completed HACCP training and GFSI scheme training. Ideally, you are familiar with FDA, BRC, and other relevant audits and regulatory requirements. The leadership expertise. You are calm under pressure, able to maintain composure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced and sometimes chaotic environment. You have a proven ability to lead and manage a team, including scheduling, approving time cards, and providing training and development opportunities. You can influence without authority and work in partnership with teams, managers, and executives. You are highly collaborative and genuinely interested in understanding others, resolving conflict, removing roadblocks, and encouraging high-quality results. The integrity and accountability. You think creatively and have an analytical approach to problem-solving, task, and time management. You can work alongside managers and plant floor staff to gain a deep understanding of the production floor. You can identify gaps and areas for increased efficiency and develop and implement appropriate SOPs. You work with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm, thrive in an evolving environment and step up to different daily challenges. The technical skills.
