Responsible for monitoring the stages of closure production from raw materials to finished goods, ensuring the necessary forms, work instructions, procedures, and equipment are provided and/or are being used by Berry in order to be compliant to determined requirements. Quality Technician works with various functions: external raw material suppliers to resolve issues with product acceptance and to ensure customers receive the required quality documents/samples as required.
Monitor incoming raw materials. Verify incoming certificates. Test as required. Maintain color master file, certificate log, and railcar resin board. Process raw material non-conformance and communicate issues to suppliers. Process internal non-conformances and communicate issues to manufacturing management. Internal Auditing: Warehouse Product Coordinate retention times and sending of records to outside storage. Ensure quality documents/samples for outgoing product are acceptable. Certificates of Analysis Pre-Shipment Samples Tailgate Samples Follow applicable Food Safety and cGMP polices. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED is required; Associate's degree in plastics, automation, or equivalent technical discipline preferred 2-3 yrs experience in manufacturing/R&D/Quality Assurance Working knowledge of Quality Assurance processes, ISO procedures, AIB requirements, GMP, statistical methods, control charts and SPC Ability to read blueprint (AutoCad experience preferred) Computer application skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases} Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written) Self motivated with the ability to work independently PHYSICAL DEMANDS
