Job Summary (Basic Functions): LG Chem Advance Materials, Inc. isactively searching for aQuality Control Engineerto join our team in Clarksville, TN. The Quality Control Engineer will be an individual contributor reporting to theQualityManagerand work alongside our Production team. The Quality Control Engineer will be an influential leader and technical resource to develop and optimize Operational excellence for plant operations, resolve quality engineering issues, and enabling safe and efficient production of a high-quality product.
This position is based full time in Clarksville, TN and is not a remote role.
What You'll Be Doing
Essential Functions (include but are not limited to):
Quality Focus:
Develop and Implement Quality control procedures throughout the entire manufacturing process in order to achieve IATF16949 & ISO 9001 QMS LoC certification.
Responsible for all internal/external certification audits necessary for commissioning, factory acceptance testing and random audits.
Investigate root causes of quality problems and implement corrective actions. Work closely with production and engineering teams to address and resolve quality issues.
Strengthen quality awareness, throughout the organization, support technical services, and process improvements.
Drive QC at multiple points in the manufacturing process.
Conduct root cause analysis for manufacturing issues and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Responsible for troubleshooting root cause analysis, SPC data analysis, implementation and maintaining up to date documentation related to APQP, PFMEA, DFMEA and control plans.
Management of MSA (Gage R&R, Regular Reliability Analysis).
Quality Technical Analysis:
Source suppliers for necessary consumables for mass production and prepare inventory according to the appropriate quantity.
Drive the improvement Analysis Deviation between instruments
Drive the improvement of Analysis Deviation with Other LG Chem Sites.
Monitor Analysis Trends by analyzing instruments
Maintenance of Instrument Analysis (Respond to Instrument Malfunctions, Contact with Vendors).
Analysis of instrument at Set-up (Respond to New Analysis instrument, Addition and Existing Analysis of instrument).
Perform various analysis evaluations (SOP Verification Test, Test in Case of Abnormal Occurrence, Test Requested by Relevant Departments).
Document Control:
Responsible for the development, management and revisions of Manufacturing procedures and technical work instructions, SOP's, work instructions, etc. in compliance with the company's quality system standards.
Assure that the documentation required by the IATF16949quality system is kept current and all procedures and documents are properly controlled.
Ensure effective quality training for all team members.

Ability to make decisions and take action consistent with available facts, constraints, and anticipated consequences. Identify issues, obtain relevant information, relate and compare data from different sources, and identify alternate solutions.
Quality Technical Knowledge:–Understand quality theories that encapsulate the objective analysis of facts to form a judgment; ability and understanding of quality theories to approach several different quality assurance and controls processes holistically.
Document Control:Maintain a systematic approach for managing documents, keep up with industry standards and practices, as well as any new regulations or guidelines that could affect our product.
Training: Knowledge on how to train production personnel on new processes and/or new equipment procedures that may be necessary.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent engineering experience.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years' experience in manufacturing/operations engineering, or a technical field preferably in powder, chemical, glass, refinery, plastics, food, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, automotive or batteries.
Able to work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours and Participate in on-call rotation
Able to respond off hours and weekends to troubleshoot plant issues.
Able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, climb, and lift 40 lbs.;
Exposure to heat, noise, outdoors, vibration, confining work space, chemicals, explosive materials, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards;
Able to travel to different sites and locations; global travel.
Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other garments as needed. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, Masks, full body gowns, hair nets, gloves and hearing protection.
Preferred Qualification/What We'd Like to See:
Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts with a proven track record of lean / six sigma, SPC and capability analysis.
Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation
Proficiency in the use of PC and Microsoft Office suite (Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word etc.)
Excellent analytical ability to effectively analyze production data.
