Job Title: 2nd Shift Quality Control Inspector
Job Description
The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for inspecting inbound and outbound products, taking temperatures and cultures, and documenting all inspections and data as needed.
This role ensures company products are safe, meet or exceed quality standards, and fully comply with food regulations.
Responsibilities include monitoring and enforcing organic handling practices, performing Critical Control Point testing, and operating PAA and chlorine pumps to meet organic and chlorination wash requirements.
Additional duties involve sample pulling for various tests, pre-operational sanitation testing, metal detection monitoring, packaging and seal testing, calibrations, GMP monitoring, and more.
Responsibilities
Inspect inbound and outbound products.
Take temperatures and cultures of products.
Document all inspections and data as needed.
Perform tasks related to quality and food safety.
Ensure products meet or exceed quality standards and comply with food regulations.
Monitor and enforce organic handling practices.
Conduct Critical Control Point testing of HACCP program.
Operate and test PAA and chlorine pumps for wash requirements.
Pull samples for shelf life, microbiological, and customer requirements.
Perform pre-operational sanitation testing, including ATP testing and evaluations.
Monitor and test metal detection units.
Conduct packaging and seal testing for various container types.
Calibrate weight scales, thermometers, and other testing tools.
Monitor GMP to ensure a safe food environment.
Enforce color coding for sanitation, organics, allergens, etc.
Manage hold and release program.
Oversee rework program.
Conduct shelf-life evaluation and sensory testing.
File paperwork accurately.
Work with soaps and cleaning chemicals.
Perform other duties as required.
Essential Skills
Experience in inspection, visual inspection, and quality assurance.
Food quality inspection experience; produce experience preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Office.
Familiarity with industry-specific software such as Famous.
HACCP certification or participation in HACCP training.
Ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions.
Capability to work independently to evaluate and resolve quality-related problems.
High level of problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to stand, sit, and walk for long periods.
Frequent use of hands for firm grasping and writing.
Occasional bending, stopping, reaching, and climbing.
Occasional lifting and carrying of 5 to 50 pounds.
Use of cutting utensils such as knives and peelers.
Exposure to product fumes like onions and peppers.
Exposure to temperatures of 45 degrees or less.
Exposure to chemicals like chlorine.
Willingness to work overtime as required.

Work Environment
This position involves working in a manufacturing production facility and is subject to both cold and hot environments.
The role requires performing QC/QA functions in varying conditions.
2nd shift role - 4pm - 2am - OT Required
