Additionally, the Lab Chemist will collaborate closely with third-party laboratories, manage sample submissions, and generate Certificates of Analysis (COAs) to meet industry standards and regulations.Reports to:* Quality Control Lab ManagerResponsibilities & Standard Work:Analytical Testing:* Perform comprehensive testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished cosmetic products to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with established specifications.Utilize advanced analytical instruments including FTIR, HPLC, and ICP to conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses.Interpret test results and identify any deviations from expected parameters, taking appropriate actions as necessary.Test and analyze OTC products, non-OTC products, and other materials as assigned.cGMP, GLP, and GDP Compliance:* Adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) throughout all laboratory activities.Maintain accurate and detailed records of testing procedures, results, and observations in accordance with regulatory requirements.Document results following laboratory guidelines and cGMP practices. Clearly, concisely, and logically communicate issues and outcomes to management in a timely fashion.Troubleshoot instrumentation issues and out-of-specification (OOS) or out-of-trend results. Use clear reasoning to develop and evaluate investigation hypotheses, results, and any corrective and/or preventative actions needed.
