The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Director to lead our Quality Assurance team. The Quality Director will be responsible for overseeing and improving all aspects of product quality, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer expectations. This role will involve managing a team of Engineers, Technicians, and Inspectors both abroad and domestically. Your job is to oversee all aspects of the Quality Management System, foster a culture of continuous quality improvement, and drive initiatives to enhance product quality from design to manufacture all the way through its lifetime with our customer and ensuring their riding satisfaction.

Essential Functions for this Role:

Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance Quality data systems and processes to capture and analyze non-conformance data.

Develop and implement strategic plans directly with our Tier 1 and 2 suppliers to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and improve overall customer satisfaction.

Lead and mentor a team across different time zones, providing guidance, support, training and development.

Maintain existing and continuously improve quality control processes and procedures throughout the product lifecycle, from design and development to manufacturing and distribution.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, and Procurement, to identify quality issues, root causes, and corrective actions.

Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and develop strategies to address them.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization to insure we are capturing all the data and efficiently parsing it to identify actions.

Regular supplier quality management auditing and performance reviews, and customer feedback analysis.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal quality policies and procedures.

Communicate effectively with senior management and key stakeholders, providing regular updates on quality performance, initiatives, and challenges.

Up to 25% travel (to HQ-Phoenix if remote and international for vendor management)

Ideal Qualifications Include:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in quality assurance or related field, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.

Preferred bi-lingul: fluent or conversational Mandarin

Strong technical background with expertise in quality management systems, statistical process control, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).

Proven track record of driving quality improvement initiatives and achieving measurable results in a manufacturing or production environment.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analyze complex problems, and develop innovative solutions.

Experience in the electric bike industry or related field is a plus.

Physical Demands:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. The team member frequently communicates with internal team members, investors, and vendors. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally moves items up to 50 lbs. for various projects.

Compensation:

Base salary negotiable (depending on experience)

An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of experience.

Accrual of PTO per PTO policy (first year of employment accrual of 12 days)
