Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist to maintain a quality system complementary to our corporate policies and goals. Assist in maintaining ISO 9001 system certification. Assist Quality Manger and Engineers to Investigate and adjust customer complaints regarding quality, implement immediate containment and address the issue permanently with kaizen. Assist in cross functional groups in working through field failure issues and addressing them as a priority. Work with quality facilitators to resolve manufacturing quality concerns. Assist in continuous functions, improvement through the organization with Lean knowledge, Kaizen events, six sigma tools, process analysis by using SPC. Assist in initiating standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Perform quality-engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements. Gather all information required for PPAP's from sales engineer to perform the proper PPAP required. Assist in developing a control plan on all new launches to ensure production and quality have the proper information to make a quality product. OVERALL QUALIFICATIONS – Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or related field Minimum 5 + years of quality experience The Ideal candidate will have excellent planning skills, leadership ability, coaching abilities, and be able to work well with all levels. Proven experience as a functional leader with significant technical, team management and operational responsibility Good knowledge of required industry standards ISO9001, AWS D1.1, ASTM material specifications Proven experience in use of quality related tools such as Kaizens/FAST, 8D's, PPAP, 5W1H, 5 Whys, 4M1D/Fishbone etc. Advanced knowledge of quality systems including PPAP, APQP, SPC, Cp Cpk, Control Charts, Gage R & R and other applications. Lean Six-Sigma experience preferred and will be given an advantage. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Access is a big plus to develop databases. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and quantitative analysis skills Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with project management software, statistical software, and manufacturing software preferred. Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a plus. Physical Requirements: Ability to work near moving mechanical parts and exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic chemicals. Moderate to loud noise levels in the work environment. Frequent use of hands to handle, feel, and operate objects, tools, or controls. Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and hearing. Occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Key Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement. Hands on experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operations. Experience or willingness to learn and manage 3D scanning equipment. Team player with a proactive approach to addressing quality issues.
