What to Expect Tesla Energy in Sparks, NV is looking foran experienced Quality Engineer to support battery and electronics productionlines. In this role, you will be responsible for the quality of the parts, theprocess and the final product. You will partner with design, supply chain,manufacturing and service to develop Tesla's production process to make highquality products that meet our internal and external customer expectations. TheQuality Engineer is a professional problem solver, that can make good use ofquality techniques (SixSigma, advanced statistics, Advanced Product QualityPlanning, data visualization) to solve quality challenges and develop reliableprocesses that prevent creation of defects, enabling high quality products thatmeet the high reliability standards in energy business, contributing to themission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.
What You'll Do Strong interpersonaland communication skills are an absolute requirement to establish effectiveworking relationships within Tesla and outside Development ofmanufacturing requirements, quality standards and product quality plans toassure products will meet expectations of our target customers Deployment ofmanufacturing level requirements to subsystems, assemblies & components toassure clear focus on design and customer needs Identification ofcritical requirements to assure proper supplier and production focus oncritical needs Leading developmentof FMEAs (Design & Process) for development teams to identify and addresscritical risks Support developmentof manufacturing equipment, controls and test plans to address risks identifiedin FMEA Assist developmentwith statistical tolerancing, Monte Carlo analysis and other methods toinvestigate the effects of part and process variability on system performance Support processcapability analyses to investigate the ability of suppliers and productionprocesses to meet defined specifications and quality standards Design effectiveexperiments through DOE or other methods to support design teams ininvestigation of various alternatives or in design validation testing Manage andfacilitate the root cause & corrective actions system through tracking andvalidation of issues and support in root cause analysis through facilitatingbrainstorming, use of lean methodologies, hypothesis testing, design ofexperiments, etc. What You'll Bring Bachelor of Sciencein Electric, Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Engineering, evidence ofexceptional experience, or equivalent experience ASQ or Six Sigma certification are preferred A minimum of 3+years of experience Specific trainingand demonstrated success in applying design for quality and problem solvingmethodologies, FMEA, process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, DoE, SPC,etc Strong backgroundand demonstrated success applying statistical methods Minitab, JMP orother statistical software capabilities are preferred Data mining anddatabase (e.g. MySQL) experience Excellent oral,written and presentation communication skills Compensation and Benefits Benefits
