Job Summary As a SR. CUSTOMER QUALITY ENGINEER, you will be resolving customer quality concerns and represent the voice of the customer in order to affect improvement in Operations and the Quality Management System. You will ensure customer satisfaction with product quality through effective problem solving and continuous improvement projects. You will establish quality standards for products and processes and suggest modifications meant to prevent defects in components or final products.
Job Duties Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product design, product management and production, to identify and mitigate quality risks.Audit production processes, raw materials or suppliers/vendors to ensure that established quality standards are met.Conduct root cause analysis for defects, non-conformities or other quality failures.May be responsible for ensuring compliance with formal external quality standards, such as ISO 9001.Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.).Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.Experience and Education Experience interacting with customers resolving quality concerns (automotive industry).In-depth knowledge of the automotive quality problem solving process (8D) and supplemental problem-solving tools (Fishbone, 5 Why, Fault Tree Analysis, Is/Is Not).Must have excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.Must be comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and customer specifications.Ability to provide technical counsel to customers and problem-solving teams.Experience leading and managing teams with internal and external team members.Ability to facilitate corrective actions and inter-departmental initiatives with little direction.Familiar with APQP standards (Process Flow, Control Plan, PFMEA, MSA, and SPC) and QMS standards (ISO 9001 and IATF 16949).Must be comfortable using Microsoft office products (Word, Power Point, Excel).Five or more years of related work experience required.Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical) or relevant job experience.Skills Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.Technical expertise.Ability to identify and seek needed information/Research skills.Problem-solving skills.
