Position OverviewAutodesk is seeking an experienced Quality Architect to join our AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) division. Our distributed team is dedicated to solving large-scale challenges in the construction industry. As a Quality Architect, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality software, addressing performance and resiliency challenges in our modern SaaS platform, and driving improvements across Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) products with higher quality standards. Great opportunity for someone passionate about quality assurance, with a knack for automation, and those who enjoy working in a collaborative environment. In this role, you will report to the Director, Quality Architecture.
Autodesk Construction Cloud is an enterprise SaaS application, used by the leading construction and engineering firms across the world to organize and deliver on large-scale projects. ACC connects teams and project data from design to done—reducing risk, protecting profits, and increasing predictability. To grow and deliver value to our customers, we need a focus on resilience, quality, scale, and enterprise controls.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a comprehensive quality and test automation strategy for all ACC productsCollaborate with engineering teams to assess and address performance, scalability, and resiliency challengesEnsure consistent product delivery and drive continuous quality improvements across teamsWork closely with senior engineering leaders to shape AEC Constructions' overall software quality approach and process improvementsReview and gain a deep understanding of how our teams manage quality and test validation across various products and platforms, and as they evolveCreate and standardize a test automation strategy for mobile, web, and backend servicesOwn the quality program, defining and executing standardized process metrics to measure team performance on qualityAct as an expert and advocate for increased test automation using the latest industry tools and standardsPartner with the Quality Engineering team to address platform and tooling needs, prioritizing initiatives that enhance engineering efficiency and improve release confidenceCollaborate with engineering teams to monitor and optimize system performance, resiliency, and scalabilityStay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies to continuously enhance QA processesStandardize tooling and evaluate testing tools (commercial, open-source, or proprietary) that can be leveraged across projectsWork closely with software engineers, product designers, and quality assurance engineers across global teamsCommunicate effectively and responsibly within an Agile environmentExcellent problem solver, and team playerMinimum QualificationsExperience in technically leading and influencing teams of SDETs (Software Development Engineer in Test) or SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) for a SaaS product or platformProven track record of delivering high-quality software built with microservices and distributed systemsDeep understanding of quality aspects in distributed systems, focusing on resiliency and performance optimizationProficiency in test automation across various levels, including unit, component, contract/API, regression, performance/load, system/integration, and smoke/end-to-end testingStrong programming skills in Node.js, Python, or a similar programming languageExperience with AWS services, including EKS, EC2, and Lambda, or similar public cloud platformsSolid understanding of web services and serverless functionsExperience with CI/CD tools and processes (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similarExperience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, with an understanding of scaling challenges related to database schema and query designsAbility to work effectively in a cross-time zone environmentExcellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detailStrong communication and collaboration abilitiesAbility to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environmentPassion for improving product qualityPreferred QualificationsExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormationFamiliarity with additional programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, .Net) is a plusExperience in service monitoring and alertingExperience with mobile test automation on iOS or Android, with a good understanding of tools like Appium, Kotlin, or similar technologiesThe Ideal CandidateVery advanced expert roles that provide advice relevant to their subject matter expertise to senior leadersJobs at this level reflect sophisticated subject matter expertise and consultative capabilitiesDevelopment of novel, highly innovative solutions is often requiredRecognized as experts within a discipline, and also apply working knowledge of the theories and concepts in other related disciplinesLead the resolution of complex problems within own discipline, often with the need to integrate cross-functional processes and outcomesAnticipate business challenges that could have significant impact on Autodesk's operational and financial success, and proactively develop solutions to address themProvide input to functional strategies related to own disciplineInfluence leaders within own function to adopt solutions, establish priorities, and allocate resourcesMay lead teams or projects with broad visibilityLearn MoreAbout Autodesk

For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $159,100 and $257,400. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
