Now hiring a Mechanical Inspector Level 2! Apply today for serious consideration! We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector Level 2 to join our quality assurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and precision in our mechanical components and assemblies. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of inspection methodologies, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity and performance of our products.
What to expect: You will be part of a global inspection team assuring quality of components and assemblies that this global aerospace leader is sourcing from one or more suppliers in this area. Once on the team, you will be deployed through SQA's operations center based on client need and each supplier's production schedule.

Responsibilities and Qualifications: Incoming Inspection: Conduct inspections of products or services from external providers (e.g., nickel plating).
Perform in-process and final inspections of critical features, including witness inspections (e.g., CMM program runs).
Final Inspection: Compile final inspection sign-off sheets or inspection packages.
Verify inspection equipment can detect defects and that inspection methodologies align with drawing intent.
Review and validate the justification for any part not inspected during the final inspection.
Audit and validate the execution of the inspection plan, if applicable.
Product Quality Assurance: Ensure products are free of gaps, mismatches, fairing issues, and have acceptable contour and waviness.
Ensure products exhibit good workmanship and meet specified standards (e.g., oil canning, loose fasteners, scratches, burrs).
Verify that all visible finishes, paint, and skin quality meet required visual standards.
Hardware and Fastener Verification: Confirm hardware cleanliness and absence of internal or external foreign object debris.
Verify safety wire application, ensuring negative pull orientation, correct turns, and tucked pigtails according to specifications.
Ensure fasteners are properly installed, with continuous torque stripe from head to surface and correct color.
Supplier Provisions: Verify suppliers have provisions to protect and preserve inspected products for subsequent processing and shipment.
First Article Inspection (FAI): Ensure FAI requirements are completed per the engineering configuration as flowed on the PD. Review FAI Reports (FAIR) for completeness, traceability, documentation of results, and overall compliance.
Evaluate the impact of any open issues from FAIR on the inspected product.
Shipping Documentation: Verify that shipping documentation is legible and includes correct identification (part number, serial number), configuration change letter, PD line item/quantity/change letter, and shipping destination.
Requirements: Must be able to meet ITAR requirements.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must pass a criminal background check.
