Job Description Quality Manager We are the industry's premier ductile, gray, and specialty iron casting provider. The company designs, engineers, validates, and manufactures safety-critical components for customers in the automotive, industrial, and commercial vehicle markets. From concept to completion, we partners closely with customers to provide highly engineered iron castings. These include chassis, suspension, and drivetrain components for automotive applications, engine and chassis components for heavy-duty truck engines, and large axle housings and other drivetrain components for heavy equipment and agriculture markets. In addition to castings, we also provides value-added services to include specialty materials, heat treatment, paint, machining and assembly. We are seeking a results-driven, high-energy executive to lead its Quality Assurance organization. St. Cloud is a three-shift, 330-employee operation and the Quality Manager is a critical leader on the leadership team for this operation. The St. Cloud foundry consists of a ductile iron melting department, two continuous flow molding lines, and batch-build core-making and final trim/grind departments. In line with our drive to technology leadership, St. Cloud is continually adding robotic processing and industry-leading process monitoring systems to further improve on its excellent quality leadership. The ideal candidate has experience in Quality management in an operation similar to what is described above. What You'll Do: Exhibit superior safety practices every day evidenced by outstanding housekeeping at all times. Extend treatment to all associates of the Company as individuals with the courtesy and dignity shown to customers. Exceed customer quality and service expectations through attention to detail. Exercise maximum care to protect the environment by fostering and supporting responsible operating procedures. Responsible for managing quality practices and delivering operational performance; improving existing processes by implementing best practices and systems. Ensure the organization's Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001, IATF16949, VDA and regulatory/legal requirements. Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal and external processes that impact the performance of the organization's objectives. Engage with customers, employees, contractors, and outsourcing firms to develop and maintain product/process requirements. Develop and lead a cross-functional team on the proper integration of Process Flows, FMEA's, Control Plans, and FTP from initial versions through production versions. Support advanced product quality planning (APQP) to ensure effective product launches. Make recommendations, plans, and suggestions that promote continuous improvement throughout the organization. Responsible for the problem resolution process, whether an internal- or customer-identified issue, including ensuring deadlines are met and using standard reporting tools (8D or a customer-specified variant). Act as an organization representative, including visiting customer and vendor facilities. Responsible for correspondence with customers concerning audit results, customer rejected material and other technical matters. Develop and upgrade the talent of the operational quality team. Responsible for maintaining the Cost of Quality process and driving improvement on this metric.
