We are seeking a new team player to fill our Quality Specialist position available at our La Vergne TN location.

Position Summary: A Quality Specialist responsibility is to focus on the overall product that's on the line regarding Quality. Acts as the 'point-person' for all aspects of QC. Provides and gives direction to the team on the quality of the products being manufactured to the customer specifications.
Position Description: Quality Management System (QMS) Oversight:Lead 'Go No-GO" decisions to ensure compliance with product standards.Manage quality assurance (QA) from receiving to final inspections.Supplier Quality Assurance:Conduct supplier process and product audits to maintain quality alignment.Ensures company and regulatory quality standards for manufacturing.Statistical Process Control (SPC):Apply SPC techniques to achieve a goal of 375 DPM (Defect Per Million).Perform process capability and stability studies.Lead process risk assessment and develop control plans.Audit and review quality data according to existing procedures. Document results in required format.Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement:Identify root cause of quality issues and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).Ensure Continuous improvement in processes to meet evolving customer expectations.QMS – Ensures that all defects are recorded and measured, so a root cause can be identified.SOP's are being followed and maintained.Receiving inspection on all materials, components for IKEA, use tools and equipment to test IKEA product, consistently does spot checks and audits to ensure that the products are up to customer specifications.Supplier Management – Alongside the Receiving Dept, verify all products that come from external vendors are free of defects and conform to the specifications required by the customer.Change Control – understanding unexpected changes and planning for them.Perform all duties according to established safety, quality, and efficiency procedures; and maintain workstation in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.Follow all safety policies, protocols, procedures.Communicate with operators as well as management to correct any issues.Other duties as assigned.Position Requirements: Attention to Detail.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Understanding of, or ability to learn the company products and Bills of Materials.Work experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.Willing to work overtime, longer days, and some weekends as needed.Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. multiple times per day (heavy loads must be team lifted).Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.Ability to adapt to and work in a fast-paced environment.Must be able to hear and see.Willingness to help in other areas.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), required.Languages Spoken: Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.Physical Requirements: Lifting to 25 lbs. (heavy loads must be team lifted).Standing up to 10 hours per shift.Walking as needed during a 10-hour shift.Bending and twisting frequently.Heavy gripping with hands frequently.Frequent lifting from floor to waist.Frequent lifting from waist to shoulder.Must be able to hear and see.Work is performed in a non-temperature-controlled environment. Area may be hot, cold, humid, noisy, dusty industrial environment, and other substances.
Education Experience/Certifications: Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or Textile Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and applicable work experience. 3+ years' experience in quality control preferred.Years of Experience: 3+ years, preferred.
