Quality Technician – Entry Level (open to train) Summary: The Level 1 Quality Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that products meet the required quality standards. This entry-level position is responsible for conducting basic inspections, performing tests, and supporting quality assurance activities within the manufacturing process. The Level 1 Quality Technician works under the guidance of senior quality staff and follows established protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. Responsibilities: Inspection & Testing: Perform visual inspections of products and components for defects or inconsistencies. Conduct basic dimensional measurements using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement tools. Assist in conducting tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods according to specified standards. May perform CMM operation including the fixturing of part, execution of program and review / relay of data. Documentation & Reporting: Record and document inspection results, test data, and any non-conformances. Maintain accurate and organized records in the company's quality management system (QMS). Report any deviations or issues to the Quality Supervisor/Manager or Quality Engineer for further action. Support & Communication: Collaborate with production teams to ensure quality standards are understood and met. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of quality control documentation, such as standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency. Compliance: Follow all company safety procedures and protocols. Ensure compliance with company quality policies, industry regulations, and customer requirements. Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Additional certifications or coursework in quality control, manufacturing, or a related field is a plus. Previous experience in a manufacturing or quality control environment is preferred but not required. Basic understanding of quality control principles and measurement techniques. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Proficiency in using basic inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers). Ability to stand and be mobile throughout the workplace Self- motivated, organized, mechanical minded, ability to take direction, manage multiple tasks at once, and good communication skills. Ability to lift and move objects up to [50 pounds], as required. Working Conditions: Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moderate noise, dust, and machinery. Weekly work schedule may require mild flexibility May be required to work overtime or weekends as needed.
