Role Summary The Laboratory Analyst is a member of the site Quality team.
This role is responsible for the delivery of quality control related data through the execution of laboratory analysis.

Key Responsibilities Conduct laboratory analyses:
Conduct sampling and sample management as required by the site monitoring and measuring plan.
Employ wet chemical, instrumentation, and microbiological techniques to generate laboratory data for assigned products and samples.
Apply excellent lab techniques and practices in the execution of every analysis.
Produce repeatable, reproducible, and reliable laboratory data to align with the Finlays Advanced Analytical Strategy.
Ensure compliance to 1Finlays protocols, standard, and methods, and course correct to address non-compliance.
Plan own daily tasks in the laboratory to ensure continuity in the service to plant operations.
Attend training and competence initiatives as required.
Apply GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) to ensure equipment service and repair, calibration and metrological compliance, and health and safety protocols.
Calibrate and quality assure non-Lab based quality measurement devices.
Conduct basic problem solving to address and validate anomalous results as required.
Conduct training for shift and process personnel as applicable for quality analysis and measurement.
Ensure compliance to world class housekeeping standards.
Deliver To Internal Customers Generate daily, weekly, and monthly records (and reports if required) that support operations with establishing the status of site quality.
Communicating out-of-specification results as required by site and Group protocols in a timely manner.
Play an active role in the laboratory team to deliver a high level of service.
Competency Requirement Ideally educated to Degree or Diploma level in a science-related field.

Qualifications Laboratory skills and knowledge Able to conduct analytical analyses (expert).
Able to conduct microbiological analyses (expert) if applicable.
Good knowledge of laboratory health and safety practices related to toxic substances, chemical, reagents and safe working practices.
Expert knowledge of laboratory techniques and practices (e.g., sampling, weighing, pipetting, titrating, etc.).
Data handling Proficient in using basic data tools (such as Excel) for recording.
Have a working knowledge of basic statistics (means, median, standard deviation, range) and be able to apply this to laboratory data.
Quality and Food Safety systems Knowledge of quality and food safety management systems and its applicability to the job.
Knowledge of metrological compliance as it pertains to laboratories.
Skills And Experience 1-2 years Laboratory experience.
Proficient in MS Office.
Able to communicate in English both verbally and written.
Good communication skills.
Basic problem solving skills.
