This position is a development track to a quality engineering position, by providing structured involvement with quality engineering responsibilities.Lead problem solving activities for both product and manufacturing processes, with assistance from Quality EngineerPerform process validations, in-process inspections, and monitoring, analyzing the quality of manufacturing processes and productsProvide support to design, manufacturing, and quality engineering functions for data collection, analysis, product review, and process capabilitiesUnderstand, adhere to, and develop processes compliant with the Quality Management Systems (QMS) objectives, as well as train other personnel to adhere to QMS standardsPerform internal ISO standard audits and provide audit support in designated areasProvide formal documented FAI reports suitable for customer or internal use as requiredDetermine and use appropriate measuring tools and equipment to verify dimensional and functional requirementsEffectively communicate with appropriate areas as needed, (Operations, Supply, Manufacturing Engineering, Design, Quality, Customer Service, Production Planning, Logistics, etc.
)Lead and/or assist in supporting the activities that maintain the calibration status of inspection, test, and measurement equipmentPerform other related duties as assignedYOU HAVE:High school diploma or GEDAmerican Welding Society (AWS) Certification as Certified Welding Inspector (optional)Ability to read blue prints.
GD&T knowledge is a plus.Strong interest in academic and career development; this role offers a career track into quality engineering and tuition assistance can be provided to assist in obtaining proper education to proceed.
Final offer will include requirement to enroll in a degreed program within a specified time frame2+ years working in the quality/manufacturing fieldAbility to use measurement tools and techniques - strongly preferredStrong knowledge and understanding of charting and process control methods preferredExperience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) preferredSkills:Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsAttention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks is key to being successful in this roleMust be able to interpret order requirements, quotes, drawings, and draw conclusionsAbility to use precision measuring equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometer, paint mill gauges, etc.
