As a Quality Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by:
+ Maintaining a safe working environment.
+ Conducting complex performance and property testing with minimal supervision and reporting results.
+ Implementing test methods, including sample preparation and conditioning, testing, data analysis, and reporting.
+ Assisting in the development of new test methods, optimizing existing testing procedures, and documenting test methods.
+ Conducting experiments with principle investigators to determine optimum process conditions and/or approaches.
+ Developing data summaries of the testing results; collaborating with scientists to plan subsequent experiments.
+ Maintaining testing equipment and placing purchase orders to assure availability of raw materials and supplies used in testing.
+ Training of new employees to evaluate product performance using standard test methods and procedures.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
+ High School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start) or higher from an accredited institution
+ Two (2) years of laboratory environment experience conducting product performance testing or similar in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
+ Associates or Bachelor's Technical degree from an accredited institution
+ Experience with most or all of the following: general laboratory practices, operating test equipment or using laboratory instruments or techniques, documenting and communicating test results, maintaining records and preparing summary reports.
+ Organization and coordination skills are required.
+ Communication skills are required.
+ Basic computer literacy and competency in statistical software is required for data entry.
+ Basic competency in statistical calculations including sampling plans and mathematical skills is required for analysis and preparing standard reports.
+ Demonstrated initiative
+ Leadership skills and the ability to self-identify projects are preferred qualifications.
+ Experience working in an environment certified to ISO 9001 or equivalent.
+ ASQ Certification as a Quality Technician or equivalent.

+ Maplewood, MN
+ Job Duties for this position require the employee to be on site at 3M Center five days per week but does allow for some flexibility and some remote work.
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
The job primarily involves standing with some non-confined sitting and walking.
Finger/hand manipulation is utilized, together with physical effort that includes lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling.
The job requires typical visual acuity, for which correction is allowed (eyeglasses, contacts, etc.)
and a level of mental concentration needed to handle situations under stress.
The risk of exposure to undesirable environmental conditions requires applying safety rules and utilizing training or special protective equipment.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $73,476 - $89,804, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible.
This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidates relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
