Join the power movement as a R&D Production Test Operator The test operator position is an integral part of the CFS team responsible for testing our critical superconducting magnets and maintaining the test stand in which they are tested.  You will have the opportunity to work within a fast-paced, exciting atmosphere to help the team meet the global necessity for clean energy. In this role you will perform hands-on work to ensures the production tests stands remain operational by performing preventative maintenance, by building new test stand hardware and by seeking out opportunity to continuously improve the efficiency of their operation. Responsibilities include build, servicing and repair of cryogenic, electrical, high-vacuum and or chilled water systems as well as on-console operation of the test stands in support of magnet performance verification.   This role will lead the way to making Earth sustainable for the future to come. 
\n What you'll do:Build, operate and maintain high-powered, cryogenic, high-vacuum, magnet test equipmentTrack changes to the configuration of the test stand by documenting the work completedPerform test operations according to procedures, specifications, and test instructionsTroubleshoot and resolve test stand issues - focusing on continuous improvement Work within a multi-disciplinary team to develop and qualify new operating techniques and processes  Use various mechanical and precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, wrenches, allen keys micrometers, and calipersRead and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams and detailed work instructionsCommunicate challenges and ideas effectively to peers and leadershipPerform other related job duties related to the job, as assigned by managementIdentify problems in a product and make clear recommendations to better the processDisplay great attention to detail and a sound understanding of what makes a good product What we're looking for:High school diploma/equivalency certificate or higherMinimum of 5+ years experience with various hand toolsMechanical, High-Vacuum, Cryogenic, Electrical systems maintenance and/or assembly Bonus points for:Acceptance testingData processingMA Crane/Rigging licensePLC ExperienceBasic power toolsElectrical schematic and wiringHarness builds / WiringSolderingCommitment to safety and qualityAbility to take directions from leadership and work independentlyDesire to work and contribute in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skillsMeticulous attention to detail and cleanliness with hands-on work Ability and patience to work through projects from start to finish, including assembly and testingAbility to represent the Company in a positive and professional manner at all times Must-have Requirements:Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbsPerform activities such as typing, stooping, standing, or sitting for extended periods of timeDedication to safety to mitigate industrial hazards that may include heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, and cryogenicsWillingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally
